Magnolol is a kind of biphenol compound, which is the main active ingredient of Magnolia officinalis. Magnolol was first isolated from Magnolia officinalis japonica in 1930. Magnolol is a fine brown to white powder with an aromatic, pungent, slightly bitter smell. The monomer is a colorless acicular crystal (water) with a melting point of 102℃. Soluble in benzene, ether, chloroform, acetone and common organic solvents. It is difficult to dissolve in water, but it is easy to dissolve in dilute caustic soda solution to produce sodium salts. Magnolol has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumor and other effects, and can relieve muscle tension and relax muscles.

We found that the concentration of TNF-1 in plasma and tissues increased in hemorrhagic shock, while IL, a representative anti-inflammatory factor, remained unchanged in organs and tissues. Magnolol can decrease the concentration of magnolol in lung and increase the concentration of magnolol in lung.
