Alpha arbutin
Product Description
Alpha arbutin is a compound found naturally in the leaves of Arctostaphylos uva-ursi. It is also called arbutin or ursoglucoside. Chemically, alpha arbutin belongs to a class of compounds called glycosides, which are formed by combining glucose with arbutin. Alpha arbutin is also used in beauty products because it is believed to have whitening and antioxidant properties. It inhibits the production of melanin and reduces the appearance of dark spots and freckles. Alpha arbutin is widely used in Chinese medicine, especially as a traditional urinary tract anti-infection agent. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat diseases such as urinary tract infections, cystitis and urinary stones.
